The second Railway Queen, Mabel Kitson, photographed at her crowning ceremony, at the Railway Carnival in Manchester, on 24th September 1927. She is surrounded by her attendants. Mabel was just 15 years old when she became Railway Queen. She was the daughter of a GWR signalman and lived in Colwall, on the edge of the Malvern Hills
