A GWR Publicity view of the parish church in the village of Didbrook in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, June 1937. St George's Church dates from the 13th century, and in 1471 after the Battle of Tewkesbury retreating Lancastrian soldiers took refuge within the church only to be massacred by Yorkist soldiers. The walls still bear the scars of musket shot
