Blue Anchor Station, Somerset, c.1970s
A view of Blue Anchor Station in Somerset, c.1970s, showing the Blue Anchor Signal Box in the distance and the level crossing next to it which controlled the road traffic to the seafront.
The station opened in July 1874 and closed to passengers in January 1971. In 1976 Blue Anchor station became part of the West Somerset Railway, a preserved line

Bishops Lydeard Station, Somerset, c.1930

The station opened in March 1862 and closed in January 1971. In the late 1970s and early 1980s Bishops Lydeard station became the terminus of the West Somerset Railway heritage line. In 2019 the station was finally reconnected to the national rail network when the GWR agreed to Saturday services in the summer from Taunton. The goods shed at Bishops Lydeard is now used as a visitor centre and museum
