This image was taken in about 1929 and shows the early stages of the construction of 24 Shop at Swindon Works, 24 Shop was part of the Carriage and Wagon Works and was for paint and body repairs.
In the foreground of the image is the abandoned Wilts & Berks Canal, and the old lock keepers cottage. Note the washing on the line. The cottage was still occupied at this time
