In a cruel twist of fate, this image from the 15th November 1940 shows bomb damage to the GWRs salvage warehouse at Park Royal in north-west London. From 7th September 1940, London was bombed for 57 consecutive days and nights, destroying about a third of the city. This particular area of London, with its high concentration of industrial activity, was a prime target for the Germans
