Preteign Station, Wales, 1961
A view of Preteign Station in Presteigne on the Welsh borders. Taken in 1961 after the station closed to passenger services, the image is looking down platform to the goods shed. Presteign station opened in 1875 and closed to passengers in the early 1950s after a national coal shortage and general decline in passenger numbers. The station remained open for goods traffic until 1964
