A GWR Publicity view of Stonehenge in Wiltshire, c.1920s. The massive sarsen monoliths of this famous ancient monument lie fallen on Salisbury Plain. This photograph was taken in the years after Cecil Chubb gifted Stonehenge to the nation and efforts to conserve the site began in earnest.
