Staff outings were a popular part of GWR working life. This image from the 1920s shows a group of women who worked in the Polishing and Sewing Shops at Swindon Works. The women are dressed in their best clothes with many of them never having been on a trip before. Sat in the middle of the vehicle are two older ladies.
