Mabel Kitson, Railway Queen 1927-1928

The second Railway Queen, Mabel Kitson, pictured on the deck of the French steamship, Lorrain, as she heads to France on her peace mission in August 1928. Mabel was just 15 years old when she became Railway Queen. She was the daughter of a GWR signalman and lived in Colwall, on the edge of the Malvern Hills
