This image was taken in September 1933 from the Shaldon Botanical Gardens on the southern side of the River Teign estuary. The Homeyard Gardens (as they are otherwise known) are seen here in an undeveloped state as they were only planted a few years prior to the photograph having been taken

Each Beach, Teignmouth, Devon, c.1925
A GWR publicity view of holidaymakers on Teignmouth Town Beach on the eastern side of the town, c.1925. The image shows a typical seaside scene; families are enjoying themselves on the beach, with various amusements close by including a carousel or merry-go-round, and a stall selling postcards.

Bideford, Devon, September 1934
A GWR publicity view of the port town of Bideford in Devon, taken September 1934. This image shows the Old Bideford Long Bridge on the left and the River Torridge running through the town. The bridge was first built c.1280 on the estuary, connecting the two sides of the busy coastal port. Two ships can be seen in this photograph docked at the quay on the far side of the river.
Bideford is home to the Bideford Railway Heritage Centre
