A view of Brent station, Devon, c.1950s, showing a locomotive at the station and members of station staff on the platform. Brent station opened on the South Devon Railway in 1848 and became a junction in 1893. The station closed in October 1964

Swindon Town Station
Swindon Town Station was on the Midland and South Western Junction Railway in Swindon's Old Town area. The impressive main offices of the railway company can be seen in the centre of this image. The station was in operation for only 85 years after facing increasing competition from the town's GWR station and as the focus of the town moved away from the Old Town area to Swindon's ?new town which had developed around the GWR station and railway works

Adlestrop Station, Gloucestershire, July 1958
A view of a deserted Adlestrop Station in Gloucestershire, July 1958. Photographed facing North towards Moreton-in-Marsh, the goods shed can be seen beyond the station building, and just behind that is the signal box.
Adlestrop station opened in 1853 on the Cotswold Line, and closed in 1966. The station building was demolished the same year, with the signal box closing the year after in 1964
