The footbridge has been used to advertise Hancocks beer, which at that time was Waless largest brewer, based in Cardiff. Sited just before the footbridge is one of the GWRs standard corrugated iron shelters, designed for use on smaller station platforms to shelter passengers from the vagaries of the weather
